Why Pet Vaccinations Are the Best Protection

Viruses are everywhere, and that’s why pet vaccines are necessary for your pet’s safety. Protect them against many life-threatening diseases through vaccinations. While vaccine shots may not completely eliminate the risks of infection, the symptoms of these illnesses will not be too severe or fatal.

At Star Veterinary Clinics, we highly recommend that your pets be vaccinated against common pet diseases such as Distemper, Parvovirus, and Bordetella. Additionally, the Rabies vaccine is a legal requirement in the UAE for all feline and canine companions.

What Are the Essential Vaccines for Cats and Dogs?

Pet vaccinations are vital for cats and dogs as they make up the majority of the pet population in the UAE. We provide your pets with the essential vaccinations to protect them and their owners.

Rabies Vaccination (Cats & Dogs)

The vaccination for rabies is required by law in Dubai and the UAE for all pets. This protects companion animals and their families from the fatal symptoms. The first rabies vaccine shots are given in the first few weeks of your pet’s life, and booster shots must be administered yearly or every three years.

DHPPi/L (Combination Vaccine for Dogs)

We provide the DHPPi/L vaccination that protects your dogs from five common diseases: Distemper, Adenovirus, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza, and Leptospirosis. For maximum protection, puppies are given a series of shots within the first few months. Then, booster shots may be recommended throughout adulthood.

FVRCP (Combination Vaccine for Cats)

The FVRCP vaccine provides the combined protection for common cat diseases: Calicivirus, Herpesvirus, and Panleukopenia. Kittens are given this vaccination to keep them safe from respiratory infections and other deadly illnesses.

Bordetella (Kennel Cough)

This vaccination is recommended for dogs who are often at daycare, boarding, pet parks, or salons. It protects your pet from infectious respiratory diseases that can easily spread through the air.

Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV)

We advise pet owners to have their cats vaccinated for FeLV if they like going outdoors or if they live with other felines. This vaccination protects them from the virus that can weaken their immune systems.
